We set off on a backpacking trip to Thailand and Laos carrying only hand luggage. We had so much fun we did it again the following winter. Most of the paintings and sketches done were no larger than postcard size, so easy to carry or post home. On leaving each new place we shed unused belongings. At first I found this really hard to do, but, by the end of three months we had half the stuff we started out with and didn't miss much. In fact, something strange happened. The less we had the less we needed.
Coming home we decided to rethink our lives.
After exploring Europe for a couple of years, instead of a house, we bought a caravan. A tiny Eriba Puck which we found we could tow with our i10.
This became my studio.
